Norris Leads Oscar Piastri in Brazilian Practice
Lando Norris has beaten his teammate at each of the last five race weekends.
Lando Norris just pipped team-mate and title rival the Australian for the top spot in the final moments of practice at the Sao Paulo Grand Prix.
The British racer, who seized the title advantage from Piastri by a single point after his victory in Mexico City a fortnight back, beat the Australian by a mere 0.023s.
Before then, Oscar Piastri had been the fastest McLaren driver throughout the hour before the sprint shootout scheduled for 6:30 PM GMT.
The Red Bull star, the sole remaining contender in the points battle, sitting 36 points behind behind Norris, ended up in 17th place as his team followed a unique setup.
His teammate the Japanese driver was the only driver to go off, if briefly, when he spun at corner four early in the session.
Tsunoda spun out over the exit kerbs before sliding over the gravel trap, and was lucky to get away with just a light touch of the fence.
The Ferrari of Lewis Hamilton also lost it, at the very end of the practice, rotating twice through the high-speed corner before the final bend on to the main straight.
The veteran wrapped up in 19th place, just behind team-mate Charles Leclerc.
The McLaren pair were well clear of the remaining drivers, with Nico Hulkenberg's car in third, over half a second behind Piastri's pace.
Aston Martin's the Spanish driver was in fourth, with Sauber's Bortoleto fifth from Mercedes' Russell and the Alpine of Gasly and the Williams of Sainz.
