Paris Saint-Germain Edges Marseille in a Shootout to Lift French Super Cup in Kuwait.

PSG players celebrating

The Parisian club has now won the prestigious cup on fourteen separate times.

The Parisian giants needed a stoppage-time equaliser followed by a perfect penalty shootout to get past Marseille in Kuwait and secure a fourth straight French Super Cup victory.

The European champions appeared to be coasting towards a straightforward triumph in the showdown between the French league champions and the French Cup holders after Ousmane Dembele found the net early on.

However, the southern French side struck twice late to take a shock advantage. First, the English forward converted from the penalty spot, before the defender unfortunately turned the ball into his own net for an own-goal.

In a breathtaking turn of fortune, the Portuguese striker grabbed a crucial leveler in the dying moments to force the match into a deciding shootout. The Parisian shot-stopper Chevalier then emerged as the key figure, stopping decisive attempts from O'Riley and Traore.

In the shootout, Ramos, the midfielder, the full-back, and the young talent all converted successfully for PSG to seal a convincing penalty win.

The record champions Paris Saint-Germain, who faced last season's Ligue 1 second-placed team Marseille after completing a domestic double, have now won this competition for the 12th time in the past 13 seasons.
